WASHINGTON, D.C. -- After record-breaking years, America's home builders see nothing special about the new year.

Next year should be "rather lackluster," said David Seiders, chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Seiders says, however, home building should pick up again somewhat in 2002.

Housing starts will be flat next year, Seiders said. He said home building has pretty much reached bottom and will remain there until 2002.
