Lee B. Salz grew up as the proverbial "98-pound weakling" in New York and New Jersey. In the schoolyard, he recognized that weaklings don't flourish in society and vowed to change. Inspired, Lee started working-out. As his body grew, so did his confidence. Soon he was competing in natural body-building and power-lifting competitions. This experience taught Lee a valuable lesson that would change the course of his life.

Furthering the dodo theme, Lee's widely-acclaimed book “Soar Despite Your Dodo Sales Manager” (WBusiness Books) was published in 2007. In it, he deals with one of the biggest problems plaguing companies, the chasm between sales managers and sales people. This gap is primarily caused by the lack of recognition in companies that sales and sales management are two completely different jobs. This isn't a team morale issue, but rather an issue of epidemic proportions that causes companies to underperform. Told in a mentoring style, the book teaches sales people how to become self-sufficient by creating their own sales architecture®, their sales success framework. By adopting this approach, sales organizations, and thus, companies, Adapt and Thrive! leading them to experience exponential revenue growth.

In February 2009, Lee's next book, "The Sales Marriage" will be published (Sales Gravy Press). It deals with another major issue that creates peril for companies, hiring the right sales people. Business executives scratch their heads in confusion about underperforming sales teams and rising turnover. The root cause of the issue is their process of hiring sales people. Business executives go on a quest to hire great sales people, not necessarily the right ones for their organization. Great sales people can, and often do, fail in great companies if the marriage isn’t right. The book presents the concept of a sales marriage which is the relationship between a sales person and an employer based on a synergistic match of needs, wants, and desires. Revenue skyrockets and turnover drops in the spirit of Adapt & Thrive! with the implementation of the sales marriage philosophy.

In addition to Lee's two books, he is spreading his Adapt and Thrive! message as a print columnist with SalesforceXP magazine and an online columnist for Sales and Marketing Management Magazine. His articles are published on hundreds of websites and print magazines around the world. He's been quoted in many articles and books including the New York Times, Dallas Morning News, and MSNBC.com. Lee is also the host of the Internet radio show, "Secrets of Business Gurus" which is geared toward teaching business professionals the secrets of the top experts on a wide array of topics.

Lee is a frequently sought speaker, sharing his message of "Adapt & Thrive!" and "The Sales Marriage" with business owners, sales managers, and sales people.

Adapt & Thrive! is still a major part of Lee's life. Twenty years later, he is still committed to a fitness lifestyle with plans to compete again in 2009.
