Business and Professional

With a twenty-five year career in real estate and relocation services, DeLora Wilkinson has earned the respect and recognition of her peers, associates and employees.

Her first entry into the workforce with Sylvania Electric, Inc. in its Human Resources Division evidenced her intense work ethic to assume increasing managerial responsibility.  Her astute observations and ideas earned her the Company's Safety Award for identifying key safety manufacturing techniques.

As senior executive with Henry S. Miller, Ms. Wilkinson contributed to the growth of one of Texas's oldest private companies from 1977 to 1996.  In 1977 she formulated the residential division for Houston, growing from a small office in the northwest area to the largest private independent firm.  With more than 200 associates in the Houston metroplex, the residential division was a significant contributor to the Miller's companies overall growth.

In 1977, Ms. Wilkinson chose to do consulting in both the real estate and relocation services industries and joined Plus Relocation Services, headquartered out of Minneapolis, MN.  Ms. Wilkinson also serves on the project team as an Associate for the Cliff Bowman Company.

Industry and Community Involvement

In tandem with this business growth, Ms. Wilkinson exhibited constant attention to the development and prestige of her chosen industry at the local, state and national levels of professional associations.  She served the Association of Realtors« as a Director on local, state and national levels for the maximum terms, and continues to serve the State Association as a Director.

In 1999, DeLora was recognized with the "Jon E. Wolf Citizenship" for her contributions to Houston and the community.  She was honored as the Houston Association of Realtors« "Realtor« of the Year" in 1988.  The National Association of Realtors« honored her with their highest service award, The Omega Tau Rho.

DeLora was on the Founding Board of the Houston Relocation Professionals. Economic Development is a passion for DeLora and her commitment to organizations from the initial formulation of the Greater Houston's Economic Development Division, to continuation of Chairing the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Division evidences this commitment to the economic development and quality of life growth in Houston. She also serves on the Alliance of Chambers of Commerce Economic Development Group.

DeLora has been a Director and now serves as Treasurer for the Texas Independent College Fund.  She serves as President of the Cypress Creek Community Center Foundation for Arts and Culture Enrichment, and was a part of the opening of their nine hundred-seat performance hall "The Centrum".

In 1995, she was appointed to the first National Council of Women Advisors to congress, and that same year was a delegate appointed by Congressman Jack Fields for the White House Conference for Small Business. In 1998, Congressman Bill Archer appointed her to the Republican National Women's Conference.

In 1986, Mayor Kathryn Whitmire of Houston appointed Ms. Wilkinson to a fourteen person long-range planning steering committee, "Visions for Greater Houston".

DeLora has chaired the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce and has been recognized as their "Citizen of the Year".

Ms. Wilkinson is married to Robert Wilkinson, an executive for Compaq Computer Corporation.
