Debra Kimbrough "takes a lighthearted look at serious subjects". Owner of ABC Workshops since 1994, a child care training company, Debra is a consultant, trainer and expert regarding child-care-related injuries. She is dedicated to educating adults on how to protect the youngest members of our population. Debra's experiences, directing a child care facility, then investigating abuse and neglect, followed by licensing of private schools and day care centers, and now testifying in court as an expert witness, gives her a unique perspective. She is well-known for her ability to connect with audiences using humor and songs. Debra's been a member of The National Speaker's Association since 1997.
At her first keynote presentation after leaving state employment an attorney was present who asked her if she could help him with a case. Since that time, Debra has assisted in over 100 cases, continuing to consult and testify in court regarding licensed child care issues. When asked by an attorney, in a long, drawn out Dallas trial, "Miss Kimbrough, what makes you think you're an expert?" Debra replied, "One day somebody just called me one, and it stuck." Twelve months preparation for that case and it was over with that one reply. "No more questions!" He could not have asked any because the jury could not stop laughing.
